Artificial Intelligence, or AI, is becoming an important part of modern education. Students can use AI to explain difficult lessons, generate ideas, check writing, translate languages, create images, solve problems, and explore new subjects.

But this development has created an important question:

Is AI helping students become more creative, or is it making them less creative?

The answer is not simply "yes" or "no." AI can either strengthen or weaken student creativity depending on how students use it.

Used as a learning partner, AI can open new creative possibilities. Used as a replacement for thinking, it can prevent students from developing their own ideas.

For students, creativity includes the ability to:

AI can generate words, images, music, and ideas, but human beings provide something extremely important: lived experience.

A student knows what it feels like to make a difficult decision, lose a competition, help a friend, move to a new place, celebrate a success, experience failure, or learn something for the first time.

These experiences can become the raw material for meaningful creative work.

AI can help shape an idea.

But the student's experiences can give that idea a human voice.

The most successful students in an AI-powered world may not be those who avoid AI completely.

They may be the students who learn how to use it wisely.

They will know when to:
